In science camp you will learn: the engineering Design Cycle, teamwork and collaboration, creative problem solving and communication skills. Campers will learn major concepts of science and engineering in a fun creative way.
Topics Include but aren’t limited to:
Air Pressure and arrow dynamics
Campers will learn the power and effects of different air pressures as they build their own rocket.
Learn about how electricity can be conducted in different ways by building a battery out of fruits and vegetables.
Physics and Geometry
Check out shapes and why they are so strong. Investigate arches and geodesic domes. Discover why an egg’s shape is so strong and yet delicate campers will build a structure to support an egg from a 50-foot drop.
Science of sport
Investigate how science applies to the sports we love discovering what makes a ball fly straight, where is the best release point, the effects of a follow through. Then Campers will build a machine that throws tennis balls based on the results of their tests.
Campers will also participate in team building/ leadership exercises that test their mind and body. Our integrated “inner balance” program teaches campers how to stay calm while playing sport and perform at the highest level, this skill set is easily transferred to real-life situations.
