To be an effective leader of others, one must first be able to lead oneself.
By modelling’ leadership qualities’, an effective leader/coach/team captain is able to make a real difference. He/she is able to influence others to think and act in a way that leads to the attainment of both individual and team goals.
Various leadership qualities such as: goal setting, building trust, sensitivity to others, risk taking, decision making, effective communication skills, understanding learning styles, team building, maximizing potential, motivating others are experienced through a wide range of activities including initiatives, co-operative games, low and high ropes course, communication exercises, role-playing, discussions, personal challenges, fitness activities, team sports and challenge games, substance abuse and conflict resolution programs and leadership ‘challenge’ adventure trip.
Resulting in an understanding of different leadership styles; dealing with and managing conflict; developing productive groups/teams, coaching techniques and counselling skills, creatively designing leadership activities, fitness and personal well-being.
